We use only brand new staple fibers. As it is hypoallergenic, sufferers of allergies need not worry. The natural softness and high loft (puffiness) makes it great to use for stuffing pillows, cushions or dolls. The amount for stuffing depends on your plumpness preference, however the our amount of stuffing for an 18 x 18 pillow form is about 1 lb
