Penderyn 'That Try' Welsh Single Malt 41% Region:Wales One of the earlier newcomersThis Penderyn whisky celebrates an infamous (and exceptional) try by the Welsh rugby team in 1973 against the All Blacks, known to those in Wales as 'That Try'. While this whisky has been made with unpeated barley, it has been finished in quarter casks from a famous Islay distillery, giving the usually fruity Penderyn a distinctive peaty tang and hint of sea spray, as if to rub salt in the wound
