[F.H. Ehmcke envelope] famousintypography this is still a usefulWere just now back from the lab where we had this sealed envelope x rayed. On the back is an illustration by F. H. Ehmcke. but we didnt know what was inside the envelope. Now we know: Nothing. Still, a neat thing from Ehmckes stationery line which was probably called Pen & Graver or Card & Heart or something. Whatever it was, it probably involved an ampersand because all stationery businesses are required to include an ampersand in the name.
