It was preserved very well and in stripping it down it revealed a very gorgeous surface. We call the 12s the "bacon skillets" because they handle cooking a full pack of bacon like a charm! It does not sit flat so while its usable for glass it would be best for gas and electric coil. Great every day AND display pan in your gourmet kitchen! DISCLAIMER: We have
