French Napoleon III Campan Grand Melange Marble Fireplace Surround antique vases Firebox: Width 38 Height 29DETAILS This beautiful fireplace surround was hand fashioned of a very unusual marble; having rust red and white striation on a mottled olive gray ground known as Campan Grand Mlange. The Campan marble quarries are found in the High Pyrenees in France. A simple mantel with ovolu edge surmounts a straight apron with deeply incised paneling, flanked by incised blocks.
