Early 20th-Century Liberty Harp Zither by Marx kentucky Date: 1967c. 1910s 1920s; Marx Instrument Co. Chicago, IL Tabletop Liberty Harp style zither, marked with a gilt label reading "This is an Original MARX INSTRUMENT." Crafted with a black painted wooden case, circular soundhole, and rows of metal strings stretched over a stenciled music guide, this instrument represents one of the accessible "parlor zithers" produced for amateur home music making in the early 20th century.
