Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome Training Presentation COSHH Evidence Scoring Example: Safeguarding –Hand arm vibration syndrome (HAVS) comes from the use of hand held power tools and can cause painful and disabling damage to either blood vessels, the nervous system or both. It is a potential health risk wherever powered hand tools are used for significant amounts of time. Damage from HAVS can lead to the inability to do fine work and cold conditions can lead to painful finger blanching attacks. It is a preventable condition, but it cannot be cured.
