The piece was likely made for the tourist market and in excellent, unused condition. Although no specific attribution can be made, the hand tooled designs on the leather wrapped wood handle and sheath, curved blade shape and engravings, and overall composition point to it being an African traditional dagger opener, and probably originates from the southern part
