In one of the photos I've shown how a tiny part of the chrome has come away but this negligible and to be expected of an item of its age and use

The lamp is engraved Daum France

It looks as though it was caused during the manufacture which I thought I should mention

Large German Peill & Putzler 'Wave' Clear and Chrome Flush Mount or Wall Sconce sideboards waved relief white bisque vase1970's 'Wave' clear glass wall or ceiling light with a chrome reflective base plate designed by Kock and Lowy for Peill & Putzler Germany. A space age futuristic light which is a design classic having won a number of awards. The light socket shows signs of age and some rust which will be covered by the bulb when it's screwed in. The light takes one E27 standard bulb. I would recommend a chrome topped light bulb to accentuate the reflective chrome back
