When set in place, the shank will only have about 2 1 8" of length to pass through your wall or fridge door, due to the length of the collar and back nut. Installation note: On a fridge there is generally no coolant lines running through the door but please check to see there are no lines connecting the door and the rest of the refrigerator. To
