This metal Adjusting Cam is used in many 5 and 6 quart KitchenAid stand mixers. It helps adjust how high the bowl sits in the mixer. To replace it: Remove the gear casing. Install the new cam. Adjust the bowl height: Start with the bowl at its highest position. Check how close the beater is to the bowl. Lower the bowl and slightly turn the cam.
