The final color I added was the splash of patina blue using acid oxidized copper paint

I painted this one at the same time I painted "Arizona Sunset Saguaros"

but these two turned out great and have been favorites ever since

I had them curve in as if reaching for the moon

Texas Flag Map (photo print) leaves The final color I addedThe original version of Texas Flag Map was painted on a road map of Texas. Like my Colorado Flag, I didn't want to paint the flag like the original image, but wanted it to have more energy and movement. I traced out the design in pencil over the map then painted all the colors at the same time using a wet on wet technique that allowed the colors to mix and blend. I also sprayed the wet paints at the edges with a mister bottle and tilted the piece back
