This is an incredibly colorful photo whose color transitions are seamlessly smooth with detail that is hard to believe shows the land more than 20 miles from where I was standing

Surveilling Winter Size:16x24 photographic print This was a difficult pictureAn ermine, a weasel that turns from brown to white in the winter, peeks from the snow in Yellowstone National Park's Lamar Valley. These solitary animals blend in so perfectly with their surroundings that I rarely see them. While they weigh only a few ounces, they are ferocious hunters, capable of killing cottontail rabbits. Agile, curious, and with a bounding gate that carries them across even loose snow, they're one of my favorite small mammals.
