The landscape offered up a dramatic, quick changing variety of colors and shapes. In this painting I attempted to create a sunset that captures the elusive calm feeling that seemed to settle over the landscape. I like to paint the complexity of colors with a variety of strokes, layer after layer. From start to finish, each painting may take more than a month. I
