Alford Windmill, Lincolnshire Avro Shackleton This is always easy toMy local tourist attraction, the impressive five sailed windmill at Alford, just a few miles from where I live. I feel I caught the painting at just the right time as all the Hawthorn, Cow Parsley and Pink Campion was in full bloom, framing the mill perfectly. I personally had to climb into the top cowl to hand crank the sails into a good position, an experience I will never forget! I will surely paint it again when we get a good covering of snow,
