Inlaid beneath the island scene are precious Morpho butterfly wings, boasting a beautiful blue luminescence. Similar to the works of Thomas Mott, these earrings were made by Hoffman, who was also renowned for his intricate tropical scene jewellery. Hoffman's pieces were created by reverse hand painting on glass, to be set on top of Morpho butterfly
